What Went Wrong With Walt Disney Pictures' "The Sorcerer's Apprentice"?

July 26, 2010 |  by  |  3 Comments  |  Share

Chuck Viane, the head of distribution for Disney, had high hopes for Walt Disney Pictures’ newest movie “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice,” but when he realized that the movie flopped in theaters all he could say was:

It’s disappointing to say the least. I’m perplexed. I have no response, because I honestly don’t know what went wrong.

It is not expected that the producer of the movie was the problem, as Jerry Bruckheimer has created numerous blockbuster hits, including Disney’s “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise. And it’s also not assumed that actor Nicolas Cage brought the movie down, because similar to Jerry, Nicolas has been in some major hit films.

So what do YOU think was the issue with “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” at the box office?

Nicolas Cage Shows Off His Crazy Side To David Letterman

July 18, 2010 |  by  |  No Comments  |  Share

While being interviewed by David Letterman, famous actor Nicolas Cage, from Walt Disney Pictures’ “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice,” let his odd side be known by saying:

I had a bag of mushrooms in my refrigerator. My cat used to sneak into the refrigerator and eat them. The cat ate them voraciously, so I thought what the heck, I better do it with him. I remember lying on my bed for hours and Lewis was on the desk across my bed and we just stared at each other for hours – not moving, just staring at each other, and I had no doubt that he was my brother… But having said that I don’t do that anymore. And you know what, later in life when I was completely not doing any of that, I know he said hi to me.

We love Nic as an actor, but…what is he talking about?
