As of February 14th the Playhouse Disney programming block on the Disney Channel has officially changed its name to Disney Junior. The programming block will continue to play many of your child’s favorite shows, but many new shows will be added too!
One new show that is already part of the schedule is “Jake and the Never Land Pirates.” Have you seen the new show yet? If so, be sure to share your review in the comments section!
Not only is the Playhouse Disney programming block on the Disney Channel changing to Disney Junior, but the Playhouse Disney radio programming block on Radio Disney is changing over to Disney Junior too. The programming runs on the station from 12 noon – 1pm ET/9am-10am PT and is specifically for younger children. Are you a fan of the programming?
Nelvana Enterprises has licensed the rights to it’s CGI animated show “Babar And The Adventures Of Badou” to air on Playhouse Disney in the United States, France, Japan and will also air on the Disney Channel in Spain and Italy. The show is currently airing on ABC2 in Australia.

On September 7th from 7-7:50pm ET/PT, the Disney Channel will be airing a new “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse” special titled “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Road Rally.” On the same day that the special airs on the channel, fans will also be able to purchase the DVD from Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment.
On August 31st the Disney Channel On Demand will be showing a full-length preview of the special – so be sure to tune in for that!
Here is a description of the special:
“In ‘Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Road Rally,’ Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy and Pluto, along with Clubhouse pals Toodles, Pete, Clarabelle Cow, and Chip and Dale embark on the first annual Clubhouse road rally. The friends selects their favorite mode of transportation, with Goofy getting the opportunity to ride in Professor Von Drake’s latest invention, the Clubhouse Rescue Truck. The race kicks into high gear, leading the gang on a journey through sandy desserts, snow-covered mountains and lush tropical jungles in search of clues. During the race, Toodles feels unappreciated when the Rescue Truck gets all the praise for helping out, and he sadly leaves the group just when he’s needed most. It is up to Mickey and pals to reunite the team and make it to the finish line.”
The special also features five new songs:

- “It’s Fun to Go Ridin’”
- “Mickey’s Marker Song”
- “Goofy’s Rescue Truck Tribute”
- “I’m a Friend, You’re a Friend”

Disney has announced that there will be a fourth season of the popular Playhouse Disney program “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.” The fourth season of the show will air on the new Disney channel for preschoolers, Disney Junior, which has not been released yet.
