Actor Neal McDonough revealed to MovieWeb that the sequel to Marvel’s “Captain America” will begin filming later this year. Here’s Neal’s quote:
Yeah, they’re planning (to go into production for) Captain America 2 for the end of this year, because Marvel does one film at a time. So they’re going to do Thor 2 and as soon as Thor has wrapped, they’ll do Cap 2.

A new programming block called Marvel Universe will launch on Disney XD on April 1, 2012. The programming block will include animated shows based on Marvel characters as well as live-action interstitials.
Here’s what Disney Channel President Gary Marsh had to say about the programming block:

Disney is celebrating the upcoming releases of the holiday special “Prep & Landing: Naughty vs. Nice” (airing the holiday season on ABC) and “Marvel‘s The Avengers” (hitting theaters May 4, 2012) with a special comic called “Prep & Landing: Mansion Impossible.”
Written by Kevin Deters and illustrated by Joe Mateo, the story will be available exclusively in these comics – on sale in November:
· Avengers #19
· Super-Heroes #20
· Spider-Man #20

Marvel‘s “Captain America: The First Avenger” hits stores on Blu-ray and DVD October 25. The film will include a new short film from the Marvel One-Shot series called “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor’s Hammer.”
The episode follows S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Coulson (played by Clark Gregg) before he arrives at Thor’s hammer in the crater. Check out the full episode featured below.
