A new programming block called Marvel Universe will launch on Disney XD on April 1, 2012. The programming block will include animated shows based on Marvel characters as well as live-action interstitials.
Here’s what Disney Channel President Gary Marsh had to say about the programming block:
Iconic Marvel heroes and villains and stories with core values of accomplishment, discovery and growth make Marvel Universe a perfect complement to Disney XD and a destination for parents and kids to experience together.

The spectacular team of writers and animators capture stories with all the dynamic fun you can imagine. Disney XD is the perfect place for families and Marvel fans of all ages to come together every Sunday.

The new Disney XD series “Lab Rats” will arrive on February 27, 2012. Here is a description of the show:
“After inadvertently accessing a high tech wall panel that sends him plummeting into a secret underground lab, Leo discovers three teen super-humans – Adam the strong one, Bree the fast one and Chase the smart one. The three, eager to leave their confines, convince Leo to take them along to school, where they try to be normal teens while managing their bionic strengths. Along the way, they help Leo build confidence in himself, and figure out a way to keep their bionic abilities and dangerous missions a secret from the world.”
The show stars the following actors:
- Tyrel Jackson Williams (“Everybody Hates Chris”) as Leo
- Billy Unger (“You Again”) as Chase
- Spencer Boldman (“I’m in the Band”) as Adam
- Kelli Berglund (“Hip Hop Harry”) as Bree
- Hal Sparks (E!’s “Talk Soup”) as Davenport

“Phineas and Ferb” Co-creators Dan Povenmire and Jeff ‘Swampy’ Marsh got together to record an amazing song about their experience writing and animating Disney XD‘s hit show “Phineas and Ferb.” Recently, they created a music video to go along with the song – giving a behind-the-scenes look at the fun that goes into creating each episode of “Phineas and Ferb.”

Disney XD will be adding “Fort Boyard – Ultimate Challenge” to the channel in the US. The show originated overseas and has been adapted in almost 40 countries. The show is a competition between six teams of four teens from the US and UK who compete in mental and physical challenges in order to conquer the fort.
Get ready for the show to arrive on the Disney XD TV channel on October 17th and will be hosted by Geno Segers from “Pair of Kings” and Laura Hamilton from “Dancing On Ice.”
Actor Brendan Meyer (“Tooth Fairy”) will star in the new Disney XD series “Mr. Young.” We’re not sure yet when the show will arrive on the station, but we do know a bit about what it’s about. Brendan plays a character named Adam Young who is so smart that he becomes a teacher at his own high school – with both his best friend and his crush in the class he is asked to teach!
All Adam wants is a normal high school experience, but that doesn’t seem likely! We can’t wait to see all the funny things that are bound to happen in this show! We’ll keep you posted “Mr. Young” gets a release date and a full cast!
