When it comes to the shows viewers are watching more on the Disney Channel you would think that because you can find Hannah Montana merchandise on almost every street corner of the world that Hannah Montana played by Miley Cyrus would be the biggest show by far on the Disney Channel in terms of ratings, but since 2008 Hannah Montana has taken a back seat.
Brenda Song who plays London Tipton on the Disney Channel show “The Suite Life on Deck” has actually been the queen of the Disney Channel for the last two years, beating out Hannah Montana by almost three times as many viewers watching the show than those that watch Miley Cyrus as Hannah Montana. Don’t get us wrong, Hannah Montana is a brand, and a brand that makes bucket loads of money a year for Disney that consumers buy into much more so than “The Suite Life on Deck,” as the central character of Hannah Montana is one person with a supporting cast that’s main focus is the central character.
As for “The Suite Life on Deck” it has a handful of central characters that play into the life of two brothers Zack and Cody played by Dylan and Cole Sprouse with the supporting cast all having their own stories going on while supporting the two brothers characters.
In the world outside of the Disney Channel we would have to say that Miley Cyrus surpasses Brenda Song in terms of exposure as Miley has had great success in music, movies and an extensive product line, which is something Brenda Song hasn’t been able to capitalize on yet.
With the Miley Cyrus’ departure from the Disney Channel after the final season of Hannah Montana airs starting in July 2010 we might start to see the light thrown in Brenda Song’s direction as there won’t be so much emphasis on Miley Cyrus anymore.

Brenda does not want a music career nor a fashion line at all (if she did start a music career and fashion line I bet she’ll beat Miley) and Brenda is surpassing Miley in terms of film career considering she is starring in ‘The Social Network’ a meainstream theatrical film predicted to win an Oscar, the Cannes Film Festival also announced Brenda’s upcoming film ‘little sister’-an independent theatrical film and Brenda is also starring in another theatrical film called ‘Boogie Town’ by Vivendi.
So Brenda surpasses Miley in Disney and outside out Disney.
brenda isn’t the supporting cast, she’s the female leading star (even the WALL STREET JOURNAL/by MEG CABOT say SO). so basically without brenda song, there is NO suite life franchise. she’s the face of it, thats why she’s on the cover of SUITE LIFE pillows, tshirts, pajamas, DVDs.
I idolize Brenda MUCH MORE. The Suite Life is much more entertaining than Hannah Montana, and I’ll say that the Suite Life, along with Wizards of Waverly Place are the best shows on disney. Cole, Dylan, Brenda, Debby, (and now Doc -that plays Marcus) make the best cast in the whole disney channel.
I would say Brenda Song is much better rolemodel as so far she has been doing great it doesn’t matter if Miley has beaten her at somethings but Brenda now has hatched from the egg Miley is already disappeared from Disney and now Brenda will and should have all the fame she is an awesome girl! Good luck to Brenda!!!
