It has been rumored that the Wizard of Oz Prequel planned by the Walt Disney Company will be titled “The Great Powerful.” Right now the movie is looking for a director – and right now there are two people who want the job.
The first is Sam Mendes who is currently up for the role. The second is Adam Shankman, who really wants to get his hand on the job.
Adam has worked with Disney’s Miley Cyrus before, first producing her movie “The Last Song,” and then directing her music video for the song “Party In The USA.”
To show Disney how serious he is about wanting the directing role for the Wizard of Oz movie, he recently walked away from an upcoming project he has. We hope he gets the role and didn’t just walk away for nothing!
